Youthbuild PDF E-mail

NAFFCCA Youthbuild is a six (6) month program, paid training and educational program that combines construction training, life skills, job readiness skills, and academic instruction to assist young adults in preparing for their GED, pursuing goals in higher education, employment, and life.

Our purpose at NAFFCCA Youthbuild, is to equip youth with the foundation necessary to navigate through life. This means that the youth will be evaluated and expected to adapt to a variety of situations. Whether in class, on-site, or in the community.

The program consists of seven components:

Academic Instruction:
GED preparation and literacy achievement. GED preparation provides instruction in five areas: writing, language arts/reading, social studies, science and math. Participants will be able to take the test after the two months before the session ends.

Those choosing not to take the GED, will be expected to show improvements in their literacy levels. All participants must complete the CASAS or TABE assessments before being allowed to participate in any classes or before being placed on the payrollS.
