Making a Difference - Making a commitment
Whether you are willing to make a large commitment or a small commitment, there are many ways that you can help.
You can volunteer to mentor a teen in foster care. Mentors spend time with youth enjoying current interests or developing new ones. They may help teens with school or work or just serve as someone to talk to who will offer support and encouragement. Mentors are also needed for our teen parents to help them better develop their parenting skills.
However, we do ask that you make sure you can follow through before you volunteer to spend time with our youth. They have already had experience with too many disappointments and adults who fail to follow through; we want to ensure that they don't experience more.
Maybe you are a member of a church or other religious institution that might be interested in sponsoring a youth.
If you think you can help in these or any other way, please contact NAFFCCA at 202-291-1603 or e-mail us at
